With his new book, ‘Entreprenørstaten’, political analyst and deputy director at Djøf, Sigge Winther Nielsen, puts our democracy and its challenges in focus. He questions our ability to create long-term and ambitious “moonshot projects” which truly impact our grand challenges within climate change, social exclusion, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The fundamental question is: How can new political ideas be translated to reality?
This question also occupies the designers, business leaders, and academics who wish to contribute with innovation and development to the green, digital and social transitions, but who miss a direction and framework within which to do it.
That’s where mission-oriented innovation enters the picture as an approach to addressing societal challenges and simultaneously unleash sustainable growth. At the DDC, we focus specifically on missions as a way to give innovation- and enterprise policy focus and direction, so we can create more value for Denmark as well as globally.
For these reasons, we have invited Sigge Winther Nielsen to share his perspectives with a presentation which will be followed by reflections by our CEO Christian Bason. We then dive into concrete methods for working with missions. Through this master class the participants will:
Learn about the Entrepreneurial state as a future model for welfare and sustainable growth
Experience concrete visual methods for working with missions
Work hands-on in a mission-oriented way
Understand how missions require direction, mobilization of ecosystems, and capacity building
Receive a toolkit to take home for your own use
